The History of the Version of Android OS

Android, a Google product which is the most popular mobile operating system worldwide was firstly revealed in November 2007 through Android beta. Its first commercial version was released in September 2008 i.e. Android 1.0 with no code name. Since the Android V1.5 Cupcake in April 2009, the every next released Android versions coming with a code name which is being made in an alphabetical order.

The following specific code names are used when releasing Android versions.

In September 2013, Google officially announced that android had one billion active users worldwide. As of a report in June 2015, Android devices were the most accessed in the internet with a percentage of 59.1 in the mobiles and tablets market worldwide.
