On October 7, at the Windows 10 devices briefing event, the Microsoft Lumia 550 launched. Its the first budget 4G smartphone with preloaded Windows 10 from Microsoft. It will be available in December with a price tag of $139 (around Rs. 9,100).
The handset features 4.7-inch HD display (720×1280 pixels) resolution with a 315ppi pixel density which is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC, Adreno 304 GPU and 1GB RAM. Its coming with 8GB of internal storage which can be expandable through microSD card up to 200GB.
The Windows 10 smartphone comes with a 5MP autofocus rear camera with HD video recording facility, LED flash, and an f/2.4 aperture, apart from a 2MP sensor placed upfront with an f/2.8 aperture and 480p video recording. The rear camera of the handset have features such as auto/manual exposure, geotagging, and touch focus.
The Microsoft phone features a micro-USB port and some wireless options such as Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality, FM radio, and A-GPS. The smartphone backed with a removable 2100mAh battery which can standby upto 28 days and 16 hours of talktime as per Microsoft.
As its running on latest Microsoft Windows 10 OS, its likely coming with the all new Microsoft Edge browser, revamped Outlook mail, OneDrive, Microsoft Office, Cortana digital voice assistant, and Glance Screen, which lets users see notifications without fully unlocking the smartphone.
